Job description

VCA Orange County Veterinary Hospital is looking for a part-time Kennel Services Attendant to join our team in our boarding facility. We are looking for a candidate who is reliable, attentive to detail, and provides compassionate care to our boarding pets. Experience working with animals in a professional setting is a plus. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
VCA Orange County Veterinary Hospital is a general practice animal hospital with two full-time, and two part time doctors. We value teamwork and depend on one another to get tasks done throughout the day. We welcome diversity and respect one another's differences. We prioritize our patients and strive to provide compassionate, sensitive care at all times. We practice Fear Free in which we attempt to help the patients be as calm as possible to avoid causing them fear and/or anxiety. We pride ourselves in creating a fun, yet driven atmosphere, and believe that every teammate has an integral part in our success as a whole.
Main duties are as follows:
  • Feeding pets and making sure they have ample water
  • Administering medication
  • Bathing
  • Toenail trims
  • Reporting any symptoms to the hospital veterinarian
  • Practicing proper restraint and safety techniques
  • Cleaning of kennels and indoor runs
  • Detailing of kennel wards, indoor runs, and hallways
  • Restocking
  • Frequent bending
  • Lifting items up to 40 lbs.
  • Complying with OSHA cleaning and sanitation regulations
  • Laundry
