Volunteer with Farm Animals - Hands-On Care (Franklin, NC)

BELLA VIEW FARM ANIMAL SANCTUARY INC

Franklin, NC โ€ข On-site

Full-time

This job post hasย expired today.ย Applications are no longer accepted.

Job description

Bella View Farm Animal Sanctuary is a nonprofit home to over 90 rescued animals, many of whom have physical or neurological challenges and rely on daily, hands-on care.

We are looking for dependable volunteers who want to be part of that care in a meaningful way. This is not a drop-in or petting experienceโ€”our animals depend on consistent routines, and our volunteers are an essential part of their daily lives.

We work in small teams and share the workload, so no one is doing everything alone.

Volunteers can choose from several roles depending on interest, schedule, and comfort level, ranging from general barn care to more hands-on support with animals who require additional assistance.

This role involves physical work, including lifting, cleaning, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Volunteer Roles Available:

Morning Feeder (8:00 AM)

Assist with preparing and distributing feed and ensure all animals start their day with fresh food and water.

General Barn Care (9:00 AM โ€“ 12:00 PM)

Cleaning stalls and shared spaces, replacing bedding, refilling water, and maintaining overall barn cleanliness.

Animal Care Support (9:00 AM โ€“ 2:00 PM)

More hands-on support with animals who require additional assistance. Tasks may include helping with mobility, positioning, and maintaining clean, comfortable living spaces.

Afternoon Care / Goat Nanny (12:00 PM โ€“ 4:00 PM)

A quieter role focused on monitoring, comfort, and ongoing care throughout the afternoon.

What to Expect:

  • Physical work including lifting, bending, and standing for periods of time
  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • A structured environment with shared responsibilities
  • A team-based approach where each person is responsible for their role

What We're Looking For:

  • Reliable and consistent volunteers (weekly or biweekly commitment preferred)
  • Willingness to follow established routines and care standards
  • A genuine interest in animal welfare and hands-on work
