Job description

We are seeking a full-time dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join the Sunnyside Street Dogs Rescue family! Our ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing support in a kennel environment.

This role involves ensuring the health and safety of animals while maintaining a clean and organized facility. The Kennel Technician will work closely with animals, rescue founders and volunteers, contributing to a positive experience for pets.


***REQUIRED - LIVE ON-SITE

Job Types: Full-time and Work Location: In-person, live on site required


*Must have your own reliable transportation (REQUIRED)

Duties:

  • Provide all daily care for animals, including kennel cleaning, yard clean-up, feeding, administering any meds, and exercising.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kennels, yard area, and facilities to ensure a safe environment.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the founder and senior kennel attendant.
  • Assist in administering medications as directed


Skills:

  • Be dependable
  • Able to lift 30-50 lb dog food bags
  • Communicate with volunteers when needed and assist with getting dogs ready for adoption events.
  • Knowledge of veterinary practices is a plus but not required. Any experience as a veterinary technician is a plus!
  • Familiarity with kennel operations and protocols for animal safety is helpful but not required.
  • Willing to help with and do any tasks needed to help maintain the facility, cleaning and organizing, and all animal care.
