Hospital Front Desk Security Officer - Part Time

Primary Location: Iowa City, IA

Wage Range: $18.00-$19.00/HR

Schedule: (Additional shifts as needed)

  • Tues & Wed: 5AM - 1PM

The Hospital Front Desk Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.

What You Can Expect:

  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
  • Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
  • Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
  • Ensure that all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed.
  • Front desk / access control duties such as creating badges for visitors and answering phones. 
  • Provide customer service and information to the client's employees and guests.
  • Utilizing technology devices throughout shift. 
  • Conduct tours of the property. 
  • Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

Basic Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older. 
  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Above average computer / technology skills needed.
  • Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus. 
  • Must be able to work independently. 
  • Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations. 
  • Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift. 
  • Must have a professional demeanor. 
  • Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
  • All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation. 
  • 2 years of customer service experience required.
  • Must be comfortable in a hospital setting assisting hospital visitors.
