Job description

Empire State Radiology, an affiliate of Radiology Partners, is seeking a part-time Interventional Radiologist for on-call coverage at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown, New York. This role involves providing overnight and weekend call coverage, supporting a high-volume IR service line with a broad mix of image-guided procedures. The position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative, well-supported hospital environment with strong clinical infrastructure and experienced technologists.

  • Interventional Radiology service line at Garnet Health Medical Center offers a strong procedural platform supported by board-certified interventional radiologists and advanced imaging resources.
  • Broad image-guided procedural capabilities, including treatment for vascular, oncologic, biliary, urologic, and other complex conditions.
  • Secure PACS access and efficient image availability to support timely diagnosis and streamlined collaboration with referring clinicians.
  • Patient-centered approach focused on individualized treatment planning, education, and coordinated care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overnight interventional radiology call coverage from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
  • Provide weekend coverage from Friday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 8:00 a.m.
  • Support a high-volume IR service line with a broad mix of image-guided procedures and consultative clinical needs.
  • Perform and support procedures including angiography, embolization, ablation, vascular access, drainage procedures, biopsies, paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar punctures, myelograms, and GI/GU interventions.
  • Collaborate with experienced technologists, referring clinicians, and hospital teams to deliver timely, patient-centered care.
  • Leverage modern imaging equipment, procedural resources, and strong clinical infrastructure to support an efficient call workflow.

Compensation

  • The compensation for this position is $1,500/Per Shift.
  • A call back rate of $500 will apply per call back.

Shift & Schedule

  • Weekend Employment
  • Part-time (0-29 hrs/week)
  • Overnight interventional radiology call coverage from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
  • Weekend coverage runs Friday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 8:00 a.m.

Requirements

  • Completion of Diagnostic Radiology residency training from an ACGME-accredited U.S. training program.
  • Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology (ABOR).
  • Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Interventional Radiology required.
  • Ability to obtain licensure in the state of New York required.
  • Active New York medical license preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, procedural confidence, and the ability to provide timely, high-quality care in an on-call hospital setting.
  • Collaborative, patient-centered approach with a commitment to communication, service, and supporting referring clinicians and hospital teams.
