Summary

Medical Receptionists directly interact with patients collecting and providing information concerning the patients’ medical care. Receptionists also work closely with other staff to ensure effective communication.
Job Responsibilities
  • Answering multi-line phones
  • Greeting patients and vendors
  • Signing patients in and out, obtaining insurance information and any other necessary data
  • Data entry into EHR systems.
  • Scheduling appointments on the phone and at checkout desks
  • Collecting outstanding balances and copays
  • Providing patients with support and guidance as needed
  • Maintaining safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures.
