Join a vibrant K-8 educational setting and help make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher for the 2024-25 academic year. This contract opportunity runs from August 1 through May 22, offering a chance to serve a diverse group of students in grades 3-8. You’ll be part of a supportive environment dedicated to meeting the unique needs of each learner.

Bring your expertise and enthusiasm as you work five days a week, providing direct instruction and individualized support during the school’s 7-hour days. Candidates with the right licensing – either the 144 or 145 certification for part-time inclusion roles or comprehensive 461 certification for full-time extended resource positions – are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification: 144 or 145 for part-time, 461 for full-time roles
  • Experience (or willingness to gain experience) teaching students with SLD, autism, OHI, and other exceptionalities
  • Openness to both seasoned educators and recent graduates
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work onsite; this position does not support virtual instruction

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs in grades 3-8
  • Create engaging lessons and instructional activities for inclusion and resource settings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere in a single school location

This position values educators ready to work hands-on with students, providing essential guidance across a range of abilities. The interview process offers flexibility, with Zoom or Microsoft Teams options and easy scheduling during the summer months.

Step into a role where your impact will be felt daily. If you’re committed to supporting exceptional learners and want to advance your special education career, apply today and start the journey for the upcoming school year!
