Charge Nurse - ICU, Part-time Nights

We are a 24 bed Medical/Surgical fast-paced, high acuity Intensive Care Unit staffed with Critical Care Intensivists/APPs 24/7. Also included in our staff mix are Registered nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and Patient Care technicians. Typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:2/ 1:3.ICU24 Beds Sepsis and Multi?System Organ failure management Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) for post cardiac arrest Advanced Invasive & Non?Invasive Hemodynamic Monitoringo Arterial lineso Flotrac/EV 1000o Central Venous Catheters EKOS Ultrasound Accelerated Thrombolysis Intra?Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) Impella Titration of vasopressors Titration of continuous paralytics Use of BIS monitor /TOF monitor Management of Pacemakers Complex Respiratory Failure patients requiring advanced ventilatory support Post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Acute Stroke Care with Alteplase management Management of Shock to include cardiac, septic, hypovolemic. Management of neurosurgical patients including care of external ventricular devices Patients with ARDS requiring manual prone therapy 

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Graduate of a nursing program.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting required.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Two or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable. Demonstrated clinical competency.
