Schedule: We are currently seeking part-time availability to include both weekdays and weekends. Shifts include mornings (9 am - 2 pm) Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays & evenings (5-10:30 pm) Tuesdays-Thursdays.

Essential Functions

  • Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glasses, tableware and other cooking utensils and places them in racks to send through dishwasher
  • Sorts and stacks clean dishes
  • Carries clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas
  • Tests dishwasher sanitizing levels and adjusts standards based on testing results
  • Washes pots, pans and trays by hand
  • Removes trash and garbage and transports to the dumpster
  • Sets up or breaks down dishwashing area
  • Cleans and rolls/unrolls mats
  • Fills/empties soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
  • Sweeps/mops floors
  • Assembles/disassembles dish machine
  • Wipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry
  • Notifies manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
  • Does not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first
  • Completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience working within a kitchen environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment
  • Ability to read and comprehend labels on chemicals
  • A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates
  • Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The work environment can be loud and busy. There are many kitchen hazards such as hot surfaces and liquids, sharp knives, and slippery floors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to sit or stand in designated work area throughout the day based on business needs
  • Must have the ability to move around freely throughout the designated work area
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to various areas within and outside the restaurant in a timely manner
  • Must be able to lift up to 25-30 lbs. frequently throughout shift, and lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Requires grasping, writing, sitting or standing, moving about freely, repetitive motions, bending, reaching, crouching, and communicating effectively
  • Must be willing and able to wash hands frequently throughout the shift

ADDITIONAL SCREENING REQUIREMENTS

  • Must successfully meet criminal background screening requirements for position.
