Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Hospice Chaplain to join our interdisciplinary hospice team in Grand County, Colorado. The chaplain provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers during end-of-life care, regardless of faith tradition or background. This role ensures that patients and families experience dignity, peace, and comfort in alignment with their beliefs and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide spiritual counseling, comfort, and guidance to patients and families throughout the hospice journey.
  • Respect and support diverse faith traditions, cultures, and spiritual practices.
  • Collaborate with the hospice interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct or coordinate religious services, rituals, and memorials when requested.
  • Offer grief support and counseling for patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Serve as a community resource and liaison for spiritual and end-of-life care needs.

Qualifications

  • Master of Divinity or equivalent theological degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Ordination or endorsement by a recognized faith community.
  • Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) units strongly preferred.
  • Experience in hospice, hospital, or pastoral counseling setting highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide non-judgmental, inclusive spiritual care.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license and reliable transportation for patient visits.
