POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Spiritual Caregiver is responsible for providing compassionate spiritual support to patients and families from all backgrounds. This position will walk alongside individuals in their unique journeys, offering resources and comfort tailored to their beliefs. This role is part of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to holistic, patient-centered care. A few position highlights include:

  • Deliver spiritual care to patients and families of all faiths and backgrounds, demonstrating cultural and spiritual humility.
  • Collaborate with the hospice team to address emotional and spiritual needs, and document care encounters efficiently on the intake/assessment form and completes progress notes in the patient's chart following each contact.
  • Understand and adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and processes (administrative, personnel, clinical, etc.). Seek guidance and clarification when uncertainty/confusion arises.
  • Establish and maintain an effective and efficient visit route.

THE MUST HAVES:

Ordained and endorsed minister, priest, rabbi or a member of a religious order preferred or lay person with certified training in pastoral care. Professional experience in a religious agency or institution may be considered in lieu of formalized education.

  • Masters of Divinity and or Clinical Pastoral Education
  • One (1) year of experience in a hospice setting or with death and dying.
  • Comfort working in an interfaith setting.
  • Current driver's License, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to multiple patient residences daily within the geographic area assigned.
