Instructional Systems Designer
The Opportunity:
Do you want to develop training that will transform intelligence analysis? As an Instructional Designer, you know that even the best tools and processes can't have an impact without the right education. Constructing an interactive course that teaches critical information and tradecraft requires a real passion for understanding the needs of your customer. We have an opportunity for an Instructional Designer who is committed to solving some of the toughest challenges in national security by crafting effective training.
On our team, you'll work with SMEs to capture your customer's training needs and advise them on the right learning solution to help them accomplish their mission. Putting the learner at the center of the training experience, you'll design performance support tools. You'll prepare training material following the ADDIE model.
You'll use your technical skills, creativity, and experience to come up with new ideas to develop an engaging, interactive learning experience on screen or in a classroom. You'll recommend cutting-edge multimedia technologies and strategies, including blended learning, to build a successful learning environment. You know communication is key, so you'll meet with SMEs throughout the process to discuss learning material and incorporate feedback. To ensure your solution is hitting the mark, you'll collect and analyze results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model, then fine-tune your training for maximum impact. You'll be able to hone your leadership skills as you share your expertise through leadership and mentoring. As a leader, you'll identify new opportunities to build solutions to your customer's learning needs. This is a chance to use your deep understanding of training methodologies to shape a creative learning experience that will engage students.

You Have:
  • 10+ years of experience in training course development or instruction, intelligence analysis, or military capabilities
  • Knowledge of instructional design, intelligence analysis tradecraft, and national security concepts
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience working with Captivate and Blackboard platforms to build courses for virtual learning
  • Experience working in the Intelligence Community (IC)
  • Knowledge of Object-Based Intelligence

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
