Position Overview

Our organization proudly operates a state-of-the-art facility, established in 2014, featuring a Medical-Surgical Department with 13 beds, complemented by a 3-bed ICU. We maintain a favorable nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1 during the day and 5:1 at night, ensuring quality care. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is available on all shifts, and we provide 24/7 security to ensure the safety of both patients and staff. Nurses work 12-hour shifts and are scheduled every third weekend. The intimate setting allows for meaningful connections with patients, fostering strong relationships.

Many nurses find the Medical-Surgical Department to be an excellent starting point for their careers, often expressing a desire to remain long-term. Our team is frequently described as a second family, making this a truly rewarding workplace.

Job Summary

The role involves delivering direct nursing care in alignment with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply medical-surgical nursing standards to enhance patient care and quality of life for patients, families, and significant others by systematically assessing the effectiveness of nursing practices.
  • Build effective relationships and advocate for patients and their families to create personalized care plans.
  • Utilize the nursing process to formulate and execute care plans, gather assessment data, establish nursing diagnoses, identify expected outcomes, implement interventions, and evaluate results.
  • Develop assessment and management strategies considering various dimensions of human responses to health issues.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the effects of illness on each patient’s overall status.
  • Exhibit leadership by coordinating with patients, families, communities, and interdisciplinary team members to assess needs, set goals, plan interventions, provide care, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Engage in effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure culturally sensitive, ethical, and compassionate care.
  • Educate patients and families on health promotion, maintenance, and comfort measures.
  • Promote a healthy work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues and students.
  • Incorporate evidence-based practices into medical-surgical nursing to meet age-specific and clinical needs.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
  • May conduct point-of-care testing as per established protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
