CLASSIFICATION: Part-time Non-Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent/One-year work experience in retail/rehabilitation or combination of both.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Thrift Store Manager

SUPERVISES: N/A

GOAL: Train and Supervise individuals participating in H.A.R.T. Center’s production facility with regard to work assignments in retail setting. Provide various work opportunities to each individual.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work scheduled hours as assigned.
  2. Exercise flexibility with staff assignments in both the workshop and thrift shop settings.
  3. Process donated goods accordingly, including cleaning, pricing, tagging, sorting, and displaying.
  4. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the thrift shop. Be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area/store environment.
  5. Responsible for operating cash register, obtaining daily net/transaction reports, making deposits if necessary.
  6. Maintain a positive, professional manner with staff, individuals, and the general public.
  7. Assume responsibility for acquiring 24 hours of in-service training on an annual basis made available through the HART Center.
  8. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
  9. Assist other staff, wherever possible, towards implementing existing agency goals, as well as any new goals mutually agreed upon by immediate supervisors.
  10. Maintain confidentiality as it relates to the H.A.R.T. Center, its employees, and consumers.
  11. Rotate as needed in the donations processing area to cross train
Requirements:

- High School Diploma or GED required

- At least one year of work experience in retail, rehabilitation, or a combination of both

- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred

- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the entire shift

- Capable of bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 20 pounds

- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
