Job Title: Part-Time Grocery Store Closer
Department: Store Operations / Customer Service
Job Type: Part-Time
Reports To: Store Manager / Shift Supervisor
Summary
As a Part-Time Grocery Store Closer, you are the final impression our customers have of our store. You will ensure the sales floor is fully stocked, impeccably clean, and well-organized for the next day's opening. This role requires a sharp eye for detail, a commitment to exceptional customer service, and the ability to work efficiently during the evening hours.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
  • Greet customers, answer questions, and provide a welcoming shopping experience through the end of the day.
  • Operate cash registers, process transactions accurately, and bag groceries when needed.
  • Assist customers with locating products and handling special requests.
Store Recovery & Zoning
  • Face and zone shelves by pulling products to the front of the aisles to create a full, appealing display.
  • Remove out-of-date or damaged products from the sales floor and report them to management.
  • Organize and return stray items (go-backs) to their proper locations.
Sanitation & Maintenance
  • Sweep, mop, and clean floors in assigned aisles and checkout areas.
  • Clean and maintain the breakroom and restrooms as assigned.
Store Security & Closing Duties
  • Assist with securing the store, including bringing in outdoor displays, locking designated doors, and clearing the floor of customers at closing time.
  • Gather trash, break down cardboard boxes, and ensure the backroom and loading dock are tidy.
  • Secure cash drawers and assist with final register drops according to company safety policies.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous retail, grocery, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
  • Availability: Must be able to work flexible evening shifts, including weekends and holidays (typically shifts run from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, twist, and frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Soft Skills: Strong time-management, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
