GOLDMAN SACHS FIRM OVERVIEW

ROLE DESCRIPTION

  • The Office of the Chairman manages a wide breadth of strategic and operational responsibilities on behalf of the firm's Chief Executive Officer, President & Chief Operating Officer, and other key C-suite executives. 

  • This includes driving strategic initiatives, managing client engagement strategy, ensuring robust operational execution, and facilitating effective strategies for internal and external stakeholder engagement and communications.

  • This role requires a highly organized, proactive, and analytical individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 

  • This is a unique position that allows candidates to develop deep knowledge of the firm's business and client strategy and operational initiatives, while also gaining exposure to senior management. 

  • The role will provide exposure to the breadth and complexity of activities at Goldman Sachs, and will require sustained interaction with senior business and firm leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES                                              

  • Help drive dynamic strategy for senior executives' engagement across key constituent groups (including clients, shareholders, government officials, media, external boards, employees, alumni, campus recruits, etc.)

  • Help prioritize executive commitments and organize executive interactions with key clients and other stakeholders

  • Provide strategic support for the development and execution of the firm's business and operational initiatives, including coordination on strategic priorities and KPIs; preparation of briefing materials for client interactions in close cooperation with senior relationship managers across the firm; and research and analysis to support the above

  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, and oversee execution of action items related to firmwide strategic initiatives, divisional workstreams, etc. 

  • Ongoing implementation of strategic communications plan for key senior leadership, including media appearances, client roundtables, internal conferences, written publications, social media, etc.

  • Prepare talking points, speeches and other content regarding firmwide strategy, macroeconomic issues and other top of mind subjects

  • Identify areas for process enhancements and implement solutions to improve efficiency and productivity, particularly concerning Office of the Chairman deliverables

  • Partner with Goldman Sachs colleagues to prepare senior management for client engagements, including advance materials, logistical support and business coordination

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 2 - 4 years experience in finance, markets, Investor Relations, or other similar functions 

  • Investment Banking or other experience in financial institutions and/or capital markets a plus

  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, form independent judgments and think creatively 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to self-direct and manage projects, interact and build relationships across the firm at different levels of seniority

  • Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills 

  • Broad awareness of current events, industry trends and regulatory environment 

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, NY, United States-based position is $100000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
