Designs, cuts and arranges live, dried, or artificial flowers and foliage for funeral services, cemetery, and special events. Provides excellent customer service when reviewing product selection, writing orders, and receiving payments. Delivers arrangements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews orders for clarity, product availability, events schedule

  • Prioritizes work to meet deadlines

  • Answers calls and greets clients in a courteous and empathetically

  • Discusses needs, suggests products, seasonal products, and floral services commemorating special events, quotes products, as well as records accurate orders and payments

  • Collaborates with Funeral Director to clarify contractual requests

  • Collaborates with floral colleagues on design, scheduling, issues, and process

  • Collaborates to resolve issues  

  • Plans arrangement according to client's requirements, utilizing knowledge of design and properties of materials, or selects appropriate standard design pattern

  • Selects flora and foliage for arrangement

  • Trims material and arranges bouquets, wreaths, terrariums, and other items using trimmers, shapers, wire, pin, floral tape, foam, and other materials

  • Packs and wraps completed arrangements for transportation

  • Maintains clean, neat, and tidy design work area and flower cooler

  • Maintains design equipment in good working order; notifies management when repairs or replacements requirements

  • Drives company vehicles to deliver floral arrangements to client homes or service venues

  • Takes precautions to secure floral designs during transportation

MINIMUM Requirements

Education

  • High School or GED equivalent

  • Training in Floral Design preferred

Certification/License

  • Valid state issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

  • Certificate from School of Floral Design preferred

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in floral design

  • Demonstrated knowledge of floral products and design

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the care of floral plants and flowers

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
