As part of Student Life, the Office of the Dean of Students serves as a central hub for student advocacy, support, and engagement. The office provides guidance to students navigating challenges, connects them with resources, and promotes a caring and inclusive campus environment. This position supports the daily operations of the Dean of Students team, helping ensure students, families, and campus partners feel welcomed, heard, and supported.
Job Summary
The Office of Student Life is hiring a part-time student employee to serve as Office Support Ambassador for the Dean of Students office. In this role, students will provide front-line support to visitors, assist with administrative tasks, and help ensure a welcoming, professional environment for all guests and callers. This position involves routine interaction with confidential student information.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
  • Answers telephone calls, assesses the needs of the caller, and routes information or calls to the appropriate staff member.
  • Greets and checks in all visitors, offering general office information and assistance as needed.
  • Pick up, drop off, and sort incoming departmental mail.
  • Assists with daily office organization and record keeping.
  • Supports special projects and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
Required
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University Bloomington
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
  • Experience in customer service, peer support, or office assistance
