Patient Service Representative

osition Overview:

The overall responsibility of the Patient Service Representative is to provide excellent customer service while maintaining a smooth workflow to ensure quality patient outcomes. Front desk staff member functions as a member of the Patient Centered Medical Home who facilitates a positive and efficient office environment.

Front Office Responsibilities:

  • Greets and welcomes patients and visitors, answers telephones in a courteous and professional manner; address questions, take messages, direct calls appropriately.
  • Collects and receives patient fees.
  • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by ensuring a timely check in process and notifying appropriate staff via EMR of patient's arrival.
  • Informs patients of Sliding Fee Scale and assists patients with filling out forms if needed.
  • Accurately document information in EMR.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures for the reception and check out desk.
  • Optimize patients’ satisfaction and provider time by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
  • Provide timely check out process and schedule follow up appointments as needed.
  • Provide reminder calls two days prior to scheduled visits.
