Community Center Site Supervisor - Part-Time 

Job Summary:

The Chesterfield Township Parks and Recreation department is seeking applications for Supervisors to work predominately at the Chesterfield Community Center. The part-time, year-round position will be responsible for supervision of Chesterfield Township buildings and activities, directing and assisting patrons, assisting instructors/presenters as needed, light cleaning of equipment and rooms, and activity room set-up.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Independent supervision of buildings
  • Directing and assisting patrons
  • Assisting instructors/presenters as needed
  • Managing registration and collected funds
  • Recreation software use
  • Supply and equipment inventory
  • Light cleaning of equipment and rooms
  • Activity room setup

Incumbents in this position may be rotated or transferred to other facilities, and/or assignments, based on department needs.

This is a year-round, part-time position, scheduled to work no more than 29 hours per week and is subject to required pre-employment and annual background screens.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License, and dependable transportation.
  • Successful completion of background check and pre-employment screening.
  • Must be available to work day, evening, weekend and holiday hours, as needed.
  • Weekday shifts primarily start at 4pm, and morning shifts on weekends
  • No set schedule, flexibility in scheduling is required
  • Includes working community special events (Christmas, Halloween, etc)

Physical Abilities & Work Environment

  • Works in an office environment and regularly uses a computer, telephone, copy machine, filing cabinet, keyboard. The noise level is typical of that of an office with frequent contact with the public.
  • Position requires frequent walking, sitting, standing, and bending; seeing (vision), talking/speaking, and listening/hearing.
  • Frequently positions self to file, search for and retrieve records, documents & items for the residents/patrons.
  • Ability to occasionally transport and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Ability to frequently remain in a stationary position (50%)
  • Ability to frequently move about the facility (50%)
  • Ability to perceive depth, color, and details of measurement
  • Ability to regularly communicate information and ideas with community center guests, and other Parks, Recreation, & Senior Services staff, in a manner for them to understand. Must be able to receive and exchange accurate information.

Hourly Rate: $17.00 per hour
