Job Description
Under general direction, performs a variety of complex paraprofessional and clerical library work requiring specialized knowledge. This is a part-time position primarily located at the SCC Main Campus.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of higher education, have experience in a library, student services, or customer service setting and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have familiarity with library systems (ILS/OPAC) or the ability to learn new technologies quickly. The candidate should be comfortable assisting patrons with basic research and technology, working independently and collaboratively, and providing high-quality, customer-focused service to a diverse college community in support of EICC Libraries.
Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. occasionally, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Staffs the library service desk and serves as a primary point of contact for EICC Library patrons.
Assists students, faculty, and staff with circulation, reference questions, and basic research support.
Supports library operations using the Integrated Library System (ILS) and Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC).
Answers communications, responds to general inquiries, and provides information about library services, facilities, and policies.
Creates and processes college ID badges.
Records and maintains library usage statistics and other data as needed for reporting and assessment.
Shares responsibility for the proper functioning of library equipment.
Support & Collaboration
Assists library staff with special projects and routine operational tasks as needed.
May assist in supervising student workers or work-study students.
Helps maintain a welcoming, customer-focused library environment.
Participates in job-related trainings or workshops as appropriate.
General Expectations
Interprets and enforces library policies consistently and professionally.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to quality customer service for internal and external patrons.
Performs general library duties and other responsibilities as assigned.
