Job description

Are you a tech enthusiast with a drive to help others? Warren-Newport Public Library in Gurnee, IL is seeking a dedicated part-time Tech Desk Associate (average of 17 hours per week) to provide exceptional technical support to our patrons.
The starting non-exempt hourly range is $18.02-$23.43 per hour DOQ.
Schedule
  • Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Two weekend shifts per month:
  • Saturday: four-hour shift (between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
  • Sunday: 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

As the Tech Desk Associate, you'll empower patrons by providing friendly technology assistance and ensure everyone feels comfortable using the library's resources by offering support with computers, printing, and library software. Bilingual Spanish language skills would be especially helpful in serving our diverse patrons.
Here's what you'll do:
  • Assist library patrons in using library-provided computers and their personal devices connected to the library's Wi-Fi network.
  • Offer support with tasks such as email, filling out online forms, printing, saving files, and general computer operations.
  • Provide guidance on using the library's printers, photocopiers, scanners, and fax machines.
  • Help ensure a welcoming and appropriate environment for patrons by following and enforcing library behavior policies, with the support of other staff members.
  • Assist with the implementation of new library services as they arise.
  • Please note we have a designated IT department. This position is NOT an IT role for the library.

Requirements
