Job description

The Events & Conference Technology Coordinator provides both hands-on technical support and supervisory oversight for events across Passaic County Community College campuses. This role manages planning, execution, and staffing events, conferences, and presentations while ensuring consistent, high-quality AV and IT service delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning & Coordination
  • Hands-On Technical Support:
    • Set up and operate audio, video, lighting, and presentation systems
    • Support hybrid and virtual events (Zoom, Teams, YouTube)
    • Troubleshoot issues in real time
  • Supervisory & Staffing Oversight:
    • Recruit, hire, and supervise event technicians
    • Schedule staff and assign event roles
    • Provide on-site leadership and quality control
  • Equipment & Operations:
    • Maintain and inventory AV equipment
    • Ensure readiness and proper configuration
    • Support equipment lifecycle planning
  • Standards & Continuous Improvement:
    • Assist in development of standard AV configurations across campuses
    • Support documentation of event technical standards and procedures
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of event services


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s preferred
  • 3+ years AV/event production experience
  • Experience with supervision or coordination
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems and conferencing platforms

Additional Requirements:

  • Evening/weekend availability
  • Multi-campus travel (Paterson, Passaic, Haskell, Wayne, Woodland Park)
  • Ability to lift AV equipment (~50lbs)


The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.

Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The maximum hourly pay for this position is $25.
