Location: Greenfield, Indiana
Facility: Ascension St. Vincent
Department/Specialty: Ambulance Ground
Schedule: Night Full-time
How you'll make an impact in this role- Provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team.
- Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility as part of the transport team in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse.
- Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate. Contact receiving medical personnel, report observations and follow directives.
- Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
- Required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- One or more of the following required:
- Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Certification specializing in ER Vehicle Operation preferred.
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
- Drivers License preferred.
- Instructor specializing in Pediatric Adv Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Certified Prehospital Trauma Life Spprt preferred.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience
Work Experience:
- Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
