Team & Position Description:


We are in need of a Service Technician that is willing to learn all aspects of our business, including Chicagoland Filter Change out work, Coil Cleaning and Special Projects with primary responsibilities and time spent at the BP Refinery in Whiting, IN, but is not limited to BP Refinery and may include working from our headquarters in Des Plaines, IL and the surrounding Chicagoland area. Our contract with BP includes HVAC filter change-out and unit cleaning responsibilities.


The Filter Services Inc. Filter Service Technician will report to the FSI site supervisor and will work independently as well as on a team. This position will work closely with multiple FSI departments as well as customer technicians and supervisors.

· Someone looking to get experience in the Trades

· Previously in construction or roofing, carpentry, cable TV/alarm installers or similar

· Mechanically inclined

· Safety-oriented, organized, efficient and results-driven

· Strong communication, verbal and customer service skills

· Experience working outside, on roofs, with ladders

· Someone who has worked in a refinery


Requirements:


· Must be 18 or older to be considered

· Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English

· After training must have the ability to work with minimal supervision

· Possess a valid Driver’s License

· Clean criminal background

· Ability to pass a drug screen

· HVAC Experience a Plus

· MUST be willing to work Weekends and Overtime as needed

· Ability to lift 50-75 pounds on a daily basis.

· Comfortable working on Platforms and with Ladders

· 99% of our Daily duties are performed outdoors must be comfortable and willing to work in all types of weather conditions e.g. hot temp, rain, wind, cold, snow, etc.

· HVAC: at least 1 year (Preferred)

· OSHA: at least 1 year (Preferred)

· Service technician: at least 1 year (Preferred)


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


· Must be Punctual - On-time every morning to prep for the day, attend safety and planning meetings, etc.

· Must learn and follow the FSI "Technician procedures" as well as all customer procedures and safety regulations.

· Read through the work orders, service notes and follow instructions.

· Must keep Service Vehicle in clean and acceptable condition (inside and out). Must conduct a Weekly Vehicle Inspection, a visual vehicle inspection daily, vehicle maintenance and oil changes when it is due (FSI expense).

· Must work and communicate efficiently with co-workers and other FSI employees as well as the customer
