St. Joseph's Academy is an all-girls Catholic high school in Baton Rouge, LA.  Our mission is to educate young women as responsible and unifying members of the world community.  In the spirit and charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph, St. Joseph's Academy offers opportunities for faith development in the Catholic tradition, academic excellence and personal growth.  
St. Joseph’s Academy seeks a dynamic, part-time tutor to support high school students through subject-specific tutoring.
Role Overview:
Tutors in the Learning Center provide targeted support in English/Writing. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy mentoring students and helping them build confidence and independence in their learning.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized and small-group tutoring English/Writing
  • Offer academic coaching support across all subject areas (study strategies, organization, time management, test preparation)
  • Support students during lunch periods and after school in the Learning Center
  • Foster a positive, encouraging environment that promotes student growth and accountability
Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of secondary-level coursework English/Writing
  • Ability to clearly explain concepts and engage effectively with high school students
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Interest in mentoring and supporting student success beyond content tutoring
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • A bachelor’s degree is not required
Time Commitment:
Approximately 12 hours per week, primarily during lunch periods and after school
