Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Sediment Remediation Engineer to join our team of sediment practitioners and support nationwide waterfront projects that include sediment characterization, remediation design, construction, and other waterfront engineering, restoration, and resiliency projects. You will have demonstrated experience in site investigation and the design and implementation of remedial actions at contaminated sediment sites. The position can be based anywhere in the United States.
Role accountabilities:
In this role, you will perform as an engineer on sediment remediation and waterfront projects nationwide through site investigation, feasibility study, design, and construction phases of projects. You will also manage, lead, and prepare field sampling plans, remedial investigation reports, feasibility studies, pre-design investigations, and remedial designs, including evaluating nature and extent of contamination, developing conceptual site models, evaluating sediment remediation technologies, preparing calculations and cost estimates, preparing reports, and preparing design drawings and specifications. Other responsibilities include:
  • Lead preparation of client-ready documents and designs and provide senior-level review for technical content and quality.
  • Effectively manage and lead multidisciplinary teams, including development and management of project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and communications with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide mentoring and training to junior engineers and scientists.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on sediment investigation or remediation projects, including providing expertise to internal teams and involvement or presentations to industry organizations.
  • Supporting business development opportunities, which may include client/regulatory meetings and proposal development.

Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field of practice
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the sediment field

Preferred:
  • Professional Engineer license
  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field of practice
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: environmental dredging and dredged material management, sediment capping, in situ treatment or stabilization of sediments, soft sediment/geotechnical aspects of sediment remediation, groundwater-surface water interaction, hydrodynamic modeling, or resiliency.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
