Job description

The Mold Remediation Technician is responsible for setting up containment, performing demolition as needed, and safely operating and monitoring remediation equipment. This position supports operations locally in San Antonio while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and workmanship in compliance with OSHA guidelines.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up proper containment areas to prevent cross-contamination during remediation and abatement
  • Perform demolition as needed to remove affected materials
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain specialized remediation and abatement equipment
  • Read and follow project specifications, containment plans, and safety guidelines
  • Coordinate work and progress updates smoothly with project managers, supervisors, and clients
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable safety policies, environmental regulations, and OSHA standards at all job sites
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition
  • Complete work assignments efficiently within scheduled timelines


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proven experience in mold remediation and asbestos abatement
  • Strong understanding of job-site safety requirements, including OSHA guidelines
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with project managers and clients


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in mold remediation and asbestos abatement (e.g., state-licensed asbestos worker/supervisor)
  • Experience working on commercial or residential restoration projects
  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling and disposal procedures


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs or more)
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in restrictive personal protective equipment (PPE) and confined spaces
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
