As of Jun 27, 2026, the average yearly pay for part time doctor in the United States is $124,213.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $98,000.00 and $146,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Part-time doctors, especially specialists like surgeons or anesthesiologists, can earn around $2,000 or more per day depending on their experience, location, and the type of medical facility. High-paying medical roles often require advanced certifications, a strong skill set, and the ability to work in high-demand environments such as private practices or hospitals. Other freelance or consulting roles in specialized fields may also reach this daily rate, but they typically require significant expertise and reputation.

What are part time doctors?

Part time doctors are medical professionals who work fewer hours than a standard full-time physician schedule, often to accommodate personal commitments, pursue other interests, or achieve a better work-life balance. They may work in hospitals, clinics, private practices, or telemedicine, and their duties typically include diagnosing illnesses, prescribing treatments, and providing patient care. Part time doctors usually have the same qualifications and responsibilities as full-time doctors but have flexible or reduced working hours.

Can doctors make $1,000,000 a year?

While some doctors, particularly specialists like surgeons or anesthesiologists, can earn over $1 million annually, it is uncommon for most physicians. Achieving this level typically requires many years of experience, advanced certifications, and working in high-paying regions or private practices.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Doctor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Doctor, you need a medical degree, a valid medical license, and proven clinical competence in your specialty. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), diagnostic tools, and telemedicine platforms is often required. Excellent communication, time management, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for balancing varying schedules and patient needs. These competencies ensure effective patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient workflow in flexible or limited-hour settings.

Is 20 patients a day too much?

For a part-time doctor, seeing 20 patients a day can be manageable depending on the practice setting, appointment length, and workload. Typically, part-time roles involve fewer patients, but some clinics or urgent care centers may handle higher volumes efficiently with proper scheduling and support staff. It's important to balance patient load with quality of care and personal capacity.

Do any doctors work part-time?

Yes, many doctors work part-time, often to balance work and personal life or to pursue other interests. Part-time medical positions are available in various healthcare settings and may require specific scheduling flexibility and licensing requirements.

How do part-time doctors typically manage patient continuity and communication with the broader healthcare team?

Part-time doctors often coordinate closely with full-time colleagues, nursing staff, and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care. They use electronic medical records to document visits and follow-up plans, making it easy for other providers to stay informed about each patient’s status. Regular team meetings and handover protocols are standard practices to minimize gaps in care. Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach are essential for part-time doctors to maintain high-quality patient outcomes despite reduced hours.
