Position Introduction:

The Part-time Senior Accounting Advisor provides senior-level accounting support to Katch Kan, ensuring accuracy and consistency across full-cycle accounting activities. This role supports manufacturing and rental operations, including financial reporting, intercompany accounting, audits, and CRA compliance. Working closely with the accounting team, the advisor provides hands-on guidance, coaching, and technical support to strengthen accounting practices. The position plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity across multiple entities and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This is a hands-on advisory role focused on execution, accuracy, and team support.


This is a part-time position of 24 hours per week.

Position Title - Senior Accounting Advisor

Provide senior-level accounting support and financial guidance to the organization on a part-time basis. Perform full-cycle accounting for manufacturing and rental operations, including financial reporting, intercompany accounting, audits, taxation, and CRA compliance. Support the accounting team through coaching and mentorship to ensure accurate and efficient accounting practices.


Job Specific Accountabilities


  • Perform and oversee full-cycle accounting for manufacturing and rental operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain and reconcile intercompany accounts, ensuring accuracy across all companies
  • Support internal and external audit processes, including preparation of supporting documentation and internal cash auditing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with CRA requirements, corporate tax obligations, and applicable Canadian grant reporting.
  • Support accounting system transition from QuickBooks to Sage, including structure setup, data integrity, and reporting alignment.
  • Provide accounting oversight for R&D and other operational cost centers as applicable.
  • Mentor and coach accounting staff to strengthen technical capability and consistency in accounting practices.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Proven experience with intercompany accounting, audits, and multi-entity financial reporting.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and coaching skills.
