Job Description Summary
TQI is seeking a motivated and creative student to support science communication efforts. This position will focus on managing and updating TQI's podcast social media platforms, writing introductions to episodes, creating visual thumbnails to accompany podcast episodes, and communicating with TQI science communicators.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Update and maintain TQI and affiliated directors' group websites with fresh content, announcements, and resources
  • Draft short, engaging news articles and features highlighting TQI projects, events, and faculty/student accomplishments
  • Assist in creating visual and multimedia content to enhance online communication efforts
  • Collaborate with TQI staff and directors to develop and implement communication strategies
Qualifications:
  • Current junior or senior majoring in science, engineering, or a related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to explain scientific topics to a broad audience
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and audio/video streaming platforms (YouTube, Spotify, etc.)
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and organized, with an ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Experience in graphic design, video editing, or digital content creation is a plus
Work Schedule & Compensation:
  • Part-time student work study position (10-15 hours per week, flexible scheduling)
  • Compensation in accordance with university work study guidelines

Hourly Rate: $17hr
