About the role

The Server serves guest by providing exceptional knowledge of food & beverage menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods, communicates orders using point-of-sales system, coordinates food timings, checks completed orders, and appropriately responds to guest concerns and requests. Upsell, process payment properly, complete side work, maintain assigned section with urgency.

What you will do

  • Describe the selection of food & beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item's origin, taste, and preparation methods.
  • Confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests using the hotel's point-of-sales system; check completed orders with guest's original order.
  • Coordinate food timings. Transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.
  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
  • Properly and accurately close members checks; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items.

What you bring

  • At least 2 years of high-volume serving experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or cub environment.
  • Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits. Ability to upsell.
  • Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job; knowledge of NorthStar POS preferred/is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 30 lbs.

Hammock Dunes Club is a non-tipping club. Employees make a base hourly wage 15/ hr and a 4% commission on sales.
