Job description

Seeking a flexible, part-time Labeling Specialist to support food safety and quality initiatives. This role requires expertise in package labeling within consumer packaged goods, preferably human or pet food. Candidates will work 16-24 hours/week during first-shift hours with a remote option available. The role focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance, labeling accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and apply FDA and USDA labeling regulations and internal policies
  • Develop and maintain accurate food labeling data including allergens, nutrition facts, ingredient statements, and claims
  • Review and approve packaging artwork, graphics, and label content for compliance and accuracy
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Operations teams on labeling projects
  • Ensure compliance with third-party certifications (Non-GMO, GFCO) and regional regulations
  • Prepare and submit regulatory documentation and support audits
  • Manage labeling-related risks including regulatory, food safety, and brand compliance
  • Support responses to consumer and customer labeling inquiries

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in food labeling or regulatory compliance
  • Strong knowledge of FDA/USDA regulations and CPG labeling standards
  • Proficiency in labeling systems, databases, and MS Office tools
  • Experience with artwork review and packaging compliance processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
