Performance Summary
The Construction Site Assistant provides direct logistical and operational support to the Construction Manager to ensure the efficient execution of Habitat for Humanity's construction activities. This position serves as an extension of the Construction Manager by assisting with day-to-day project coordination, material procurement, site logistics, document handling, scheduling, and other operational tasks that support the construction program.
A primary responsibility of this role is to anticipate and respond to the needs of the Construction Manager by performing field and support functions as construction activities require. Responsibilities include coordinating deliveries, obtaining materials and supplies, transporting documents, running project-related errands, and supporting operational needs that contribute to maintaining construction schedules and site productivity. Work assignments and hours may vary based on construction schedules, volunteer activities, project milestones, and organizational priorities.
This field-based position requires strong organizational skills, flexibility, initiative, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while effectively supporting construction operations and advancing Habitat for Humanity's mission.
Position Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and execute material and supply procurement, including picking up, delivering, and organizing construction-related items and tools.
  • Run project-related errands, including vendor pickups, document delivery, and supply restocking to support active job sites.
  • Support communication between the Construction Manager, subcontractors, vendors, volunteers, and internal staff to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
  • Maintain and organize construction documentation, including receipts, delivery logs, site notes, and project records.
  • Assist with site setup and breakdown, including preparing tools, materials, and work areas before and after construction activities.
  • Support volunteer and site coordination efforts, including greeting volunteers, assisting with orientation, and ensuring volunteers are properly directed.
  • Monitor supply levels and notify the Construction Manager when materials or tools need replenishment.
  • Provide general field support to ensure construction activities run efficiently and deadlines are met.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Construction Manager to support project completion.

  • Ability to perform occasional computer-based work
