Job Summary:

We are seeking a Communications Specialist to provide strategic internal communications support for the Finance and Accounting organization, ensuring consistent, timely, and impactful messaging for leaders and employees. In this role, you will distill complex information into clear, accessible communications that promote leadership alignment, support effective decision-making, and enhance overall employee understanding. Finance and Accounting sits at the center of the company's financial stewardship-driving performance, shaping business decisions, and enabling long-term value creation.
As the organization continues to evolve, scale, and strengthen its global capabilities, this role plays a critical part in communicating how Finance and Accounting contributes to operational excellence and advances the company's overall strategic goals. The successful candidate will excel in a matrixed environment, demonstrate sound judgment and discretion, and partner closely with leaders across Finance, Corporate Affairs & Marketing, and related functions.
This position is designated as part-time telework under Bechtel's global policy and requires a minimum of three days per week in person at the assigned office or project. Weekly schedules will be determined in coordination with the supervisor and functional leadership.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Support the planning and execution of internal communications strategies, including measuring effectiveness and continuously improving content and channels.
  • Partner with Finance, Corporate Affairs & Marketing, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and optimize communication touchpoints across the organization.
  • Develop and deliver executive communications, including leadership messages, all-hands updates, talking points, and content for a variety of internal platforms.
  • Distill complex information into clear, accessible messages that promote leadership alignment, support effective decision-making, and strengthen overall employee understanding.
  • Shape and evolve the Finance & Accounting narrative, communicating the organization's role in driving performance, enabling operational excellence, and supporting long-term business strategy.
  • Manage communications projects and deliverables for executive meetings, organizational milestones, program updates, and special events.
  • Lead communications for strategic initiatives and provide support for special projects and senior leadership priorities as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and narrative development skills for executive and employee audiences.
  • Experience building and executing strategic communications plans.
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial, commercial, and project information into clear, engaging messages.
  • Strong project management, time management, and attention to detail in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • High degree of judgment, discretion, and confidence when working with executives and project leadership.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to advise and influence when needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard communication tools.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience supporting project finance, FP&A, or investment/development organizations, including senior executives (CFO, COO, President).
  • Solid understanding of capital-intensive businesses, including infrastructure, energy, engineering, or investment-driven environments.
