Position Summary
AB Facility Services is looking for a part-time Day Cleaner for a client located in Norfolk, VA. This role is responsible for picking up trash outdoors as well as cleaning indoors. Those who are interested must be available to work on the weekends.
Essential Functions: This is outdoors.
  • Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities.
  • Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
  • Cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas, restrooms, exhibit buildings, offices, and staff facilities according to established cleaning schedules.
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles, replace liners, and ensure waste is disposed of safely and in accordance with site procedures.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize high-touch surfaces to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests, staff, and animals.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and compliance with zoo-specific guidelines around animal habitats.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or supply shortages to the supervisor promptly while delivering high-quality customer service and professionalism.
