Outdoor Lighting Technical Manager

Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Outdoor Lighting Technical Manager for a growing organization in the outdoor lighting industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on lighting professional looking to transition into a leadership and technical coaching role.

If you have extensive experience with low-voltage lighting systems, enjoy solving technical challenges, and have a passion for mentoring others, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for outdoor lighting systems.
  • Coach and train technicians on installation best practices and quality standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving:
    • Low-voltage wiring
    • Transformers
    • Controllers
    • Permanent lighting systems
    • Landscape lighting
    • Holiday lighting
  • Conduct field visits to support installations and quality assurance.
  • Develop training materials, field standards, and technical documentation.
  • Review project photos and installation details to identify solutions and improvements.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to improve products and processes.
  • Assist with onboarding and technical development of new team members.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Landscape lighting
    • Low-voltage electrical systems
    • Permanent lighting
    • Holiday lighting
    • Irrigation
    • Exterior construction
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coaching, training, or mentoring others preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and in team environments.
  • Valid driver's license required.
