Code Ninjas is the nation’s fastest growing kids coding franchise. In our center, kids ages 7-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way – by playing and building video games they love. Kids have a blast and can’t wait to come back. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving, as they progress from white to black belt. What are we looking for?

We are looking for an Assistant Manager/ Lead Code Sensei to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our Senseis are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center. This individual oversees the day-to-day coaching and student engagement. Are you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching and building problem solving skills in young engineering minds? Have you mentored youth? This could be the role for you.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist and will have direct responsibility to oversee daily operations of the center and the Sensei team
  • Following up with leads, scheduling tours, and enrolling new students with strong focus on enrollment and retention
  • Working with our software to maintain communication with clients
  • Working with parents to define children's learning needs
  • Engaging with children and families in the center
  • Training – go through the curriculum and learn it
  • Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow
  • Work with children providing coding instructions (aka Ninjas) on their belt curriculum & teach group sessions
  • Provide feedback to parents after working with student who is on a tour
  • Follow opening/closing duties daily
  • Clean dojo throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards
  • Report weekly to Center Assistant Manager on progress
  • Report daily to Owner with respect to day’s activities and productivity in dojo
  • Assist with Day Camps, Parent Night Outs, Birthday Parties, and Summer Camps

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience working children ages 7 and up (1 year - Required)
  • Must have experience/knowledge of Scratch/Scratch Jr/Block coding and Computer coding concepts (1 year - Required)
  • Fun/enthusiastic about working with kids; mentoring and teaching
  • Patient, kind, and understanding
  • Works well with others; collaborates and takes pride in their work
  • Upbeat and fun individual with a passion for technology and learning
  • Knowledgeable about coding (C++, Python, Javascript) and technology; Computer Science major preferred
  • Preferred experience with Robotics (VEX), Minecraft, Roblox, or Unity.
  • Must be available weeknights from 3-6pm and Saturday from 10am-2pm
  • Breaks (Spring, Thanksgiving, Winter/New Year) for half or full-day camps.
