Job description

Utz Quality Foods is looking for a dependable individual to join our team as a Part Time Warehouse Utility associate to maintain accurate warehouse inventories, ensure proper product rotation, and pull, sort, and prepare product orders for sales professionals as required. This position will be based in ourSalt Lake City, UTDistribution Center, and is generally scheduled for approximately 28 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Open/Close the distribution center facility as required.
  • Unload trailers that arrive at the center and check trailer loads for inventory accuracy.
  • Rotate warehouse inventory to maintain longest product shelf-life.
  • Pull product to fill extra orders as requested by salespeople.
  • Responsible to determine warehouse product needs daily.
  • Pull product to fill daily orders submitted by route salespeople.
  • Responsible to maintain accurate daily inventory balances.
  • Use a hand-held computer to balance the daily inventory (warehouse inventory, daily orders, extra orders, return to stock, trailer loads).
  • Responsible to accept and check return to stock product and stale and damaged products.
  • Place returned cardboard and stale and damaged product on trailers.
  • Perform various maintenance duties as required (cleaning, mowing, etc.).

Job Requirements

  • Organization and attention to details to maintain accurate inventory records and rotation of product at the distribution center.
  • Basic math and writing skills necessary to track, count, and record information.
  • Requires independent decision making on inventory needs, especially during promotional activity.
  • Requires an ability to communicate through speech, vision and hearing.
  • Must be able and eligible to safely operate and maintain required equipment to fulfill warehousing responsibilities.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a DOT Medical card.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Requires a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to operate a route sales delivery step van in a safe and competent manner.
  • Requires proper lifting techniques with an ability to lift, carry, and transport products.
