What is a chat associate?

Chat Associates are professionals who handle customer inquiries and support requests through online chat platforms. They assist customers by providing information, resolving issues, and guiding them through various processes related to products or services. Chat Associates typically work for companies in customer service departments, ensuring quick and efficient responses to customer needs. Their role requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and familiarity with the company's offerings.

Job description

Client Service Associate

As a Client Service Associate on the Client Services team, you will support our clients (entrepreneurs and their finance teams) by providing effective, timely assistance over live chat, phone, email, and text. You will handle inquiries ranging from basic technical issues, such as password resets, to complex service questions, such as guidance on ERP integrations or setting up an expense management policy on the platform. This role is based full-time in our Salt Lake City office and offers the opportunity to build strong customer service and finance operations skills at a growing company.

Responsibilities
  • Customer issue resolution: Address and resolve client issues via chat, phone, email, and text, applying good judgment and Rho's service standards in every interaction.
  • Service documentation: Document common client issues and resolutions to help build the team's knowledge base.
  • Feedback collection: Gather client feedback to help identify service improvements.
  • Team communication: Document and communicate ongoing issues to teammates and leadership for follow-up when needed.
  • Process adherence: Follow established protocols and procedures for client service delivery.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in customer service; financial services or startup experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to clients.
  • Self-motivated with good judgment and sound decision-making, particularly during shifts with lighter on-site coverage.
  • Basic understanding of finance concepts: banking, credit cards, and accounting principles.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities.
Schedule

This role is in-office at our Salt Lake City office in the Gateway (parking included), five days per week. Two shift schedules are available:

  • Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00 PM–12:00 AM MST
  • Sunday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–12:00 AM MST

Applicants can select their preferred shift, or indicate they are open to both, in the application.

Our people are our most valuable asset. The salary range for this role is $58,000 - $70,000. In addition to base pay, Rho offers equity, healthcare benefits and paid time off.
