Maintenance Assistant (Skilled Nursing) - Los Angeles, California

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our facility, allowing our staff to focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Assistant to work part-time (Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 8am-5pm) in our skilled nursing facility in downtown Los Angeles. As a part of our team, you will be responsible for performing routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance. You will also be required to clean interior and exterior of the building, complete administrative tasks, and respond to emergency calls for maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance
• Clean interior and exterior of the building, machinery, and equipment
• Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to supervisor
• Comply with all safety and health regulations
• Keep inventory of maintenance equipment and report needs to supervisor
• Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues
• Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ years of experience in skilled nursing
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors
