Job description

Multi-Trade Remodel Carpenter -
Northern California
$30-$36/hr DOE • Full-time • Based out of Pleasanton, CA
Quality Mobile Home Services is hiring an experienced multi-trade carpenter for our Northern
California operation. This is a hands-on production role - you'll be running remodel and repair
work on manufactured, modular, and mobile homes across the region. If you'd rather build than
babysit a clipboard, read on.
What you'll actually do
Day to day, you'll be cycling through jobs that hit most of these:
• Deck builds and repairs
• Framing repair (wall, floor, roof)
• Subfloor replacement and reinforcement
• Siding installation
• Interior and exterior flooring
• Foundation, pier, and leveling work
• Whole-home repipes and plumbing repairs
• General remodel carpentry - trim, doors, windows, drywall
Jobs range from one-day maintenance calls to multi-month structural repairs. Some weeks are
a single deep build start to finish; other weeks cycle through three or four shorter jobs. Comfort
with both ends of that spread matters.
You'll work a two-man crew on every job. Depending on scope, that's either you running the job
with a helper or apprentice in support, or you and another tradesman working as peers on a
more complex build. Either way, this is a working role - your hands are on the tools.
About 40% of our work happens in the crawl space under the home - subfloor repair, repipe,
foundation and pier work, and leveling all live down there. Comfort working in confined spaces is
required for this role, not a nice-to-have.
You'll be working inside customers' homes, not on an empty job site. Most of our customers are
senior citizens or older homeowners - many of whom have lived in their place for decades and
will be home while you work. Respectful communication, clean job sites at end of day, and the
patience to walk someone through what you're doing are as much a part of this role as the
carpentry.
Compensation and benefits
• $30-$36/hr depending on experience. Top of band requires verifiable journeyman-level
skill across at least four of the trades above.
• Year-round work - 52 weeks a year, 10 years running. No seasonal layoffs, no project
gaps.
• Weekly pay
• Paid holidays
• Voluntary overtime available based on job demand - opt in when you want it, no
obligation
• Mileage reimbursement at $0.725/mile (above the federal IRS rate) for use of your own
vehicle
• Health insurance and supplemental coverage
• Paid training - including manufactured housing systems, which are different enough
from stick-built that we train everyone in-house
• Company phone provided
• Tools - we provide large shop tools (table saw, compound miter, etc.) and reimburse
for personal tool usage
What we're looking for
• 4+ years in residential remodel or repair construction
• Strong carpentry foundation - can frame, square, level, and trim without supervision
• Comfortable across multiple trades (plumbing, drywall, basic finish work)
• Works well in either role on a two-man crew - leading a helper when needed,
collaborating shoulder-to-shoulder with a peer tradesman when that's the call
• Strong customer communication - patient, respectful, and able to explain what you're
doing in plain language, especially with senior homeowners
• Reads plans, takes accurate measurements, manages your own day on a job site
• Comfortable on ladders and able to lift 50+ lbs regularly
• Valid CA driver's license, clean DMV record
• Manufactured housing experience is a plus, not a requirement - we train
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
