Job description

Summary

LEGENDS Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Part-Time Maintenance Technician at the Oak Park Ice Rink. This position will perform a variety of skilled and unskilled activities involved in the operation and maintenance of the facility's mechanical and electrical systems and general operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility electrical systems including panels, feeders, breakers, transformers (as applicable), receptacles, and lighting controls.
  • Assist in the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of building operating systems including boilers, chillers, air handlers, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment.
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of food service equipment including ovens, grills, dishwashers, deep fryers, and refrigeration units.
  • Follow the preventive maintenance program, energy management program, and standard operating procedures for all machinery and equipment.
  • Perform basic carpentry, patch/paint, hardware installation, and minor building repairs as needed.
  • Conduct routine rounds of the facility to identify abnormalities, safety hazards, leaks, and housekeeping issues; initiate corrective work orders.
  • Maintain tools, parts, and supplies; track inventory and restock critical items.
  • Support compliance activities and site standards (e.g., inspection logs, labeling, documentation retention) as assigned.
  • Record and log all work performed, complete work orders and compile all required reports in a timely and complete manner.
  • Operate equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and miscellaneous hand and power tools.
  • Promote a safe working environment for all employees by following the life safety and emergency program as needed.
  • Respond to routine, precautionary, and emergency alarms from building automation and life safety systems as needed.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience in building maintenance, facilities, property operations, or a related trade environment.
  • Working knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical principles; ability to safely use hand/power tools.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe electrical work practices, including LOTO and electrical hazard awareness.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have sufficient computer skills to operate BMS / other automated systems. Applicant should have working knowledge of normal business applications such as Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Adobe, et cetera.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
  • Requires ability to work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.

Compensation
