Highlands Middle SchoolSeeking a middle school cafeteria worker for a part-time (3.5 hours/day) position. Hours are Monday - Friday, 10:30AM - 2PM. Food service experience is preferred.
Essential Duties
  • Food Preparation:
    • Assisting in cooking and prepping food items according to recipes and dietary restrictions.
    • Portioning food accurately for serving lines.
    • Maintaining proper food temperatures and handling procedures.
    • Setting up serving lines with food items.
  • Serving Meals:
    • Serving food to students and staff in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Operating a point-of-sale system to collect payments and manage student meal accounts.
    • Verifying meal selections and dietary needs for students.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation:
    • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and serving area.
    • Washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
    • Cleaning and sanitizing food preparation surfaces and equipment.
    • Properly disposing of food waste and cleaning up spills.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Receiving and storing food deliveries
    • Rotating stock to ensure freshness
    • Monitoring inventory levels and reporting shortages
