Welcome to Grayson College. Grayson College is located in the heart of Grayson County providing a vital link for higher education. Seasonal Bus Driver: Part-Time:
 
Role:   
Driver -Ensures the safe and orderly transportation of students and other personnel as needed to and from college or other designated places. This position is a part-time seasonal position as needed.  Applicaints must have an current CDL license with a passenger endorsement which allows the holder to drive vehicles that transport 15 or more passengers. 
The rate of pay is $20.00 per hour.
 
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:  
75%   Drives the assigned college vehicle to destinations as assigned; adheres to all traffic laws and safety requirements including pre-trip and post-trip inspections. 
10%   Keeps assigned bus or vehicles clean and fueled. 
10%   Completes and submits all required reports and documentation; reports all accidents, vehicle damage, and student conduct issues or injuries as they occur. 
5%     Performs other job-related duties as assigned. 
Performance Measurements: 
1.    Demonstrates the Viking Values of balance, clarity, gratitude, service, teamwork, and trust.
2.    Complies with all federal and state transportation laws; adheres to institutional policies regarding student and staff transportation.
3.    Monitors the condition of assigned vehicles and reports the need for service as necessary.
4.    Maintains a safe driving record within the limits and regulations of the law.
5.    Maintains a valid Texas commercial drivers' license.
6.    Fulfills the duties of the Fleet Safety Rules of the College.

Knowledge and Skills: 
  •  Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Valid Texas CDL (Class A or B with Passenger and School Bus endorsement).
  • No record of DUI convictions in the past 10 years.
  • Must be able to pass DOT mandated physical exam.
  • Must be able to pass pre-duty and randomly administered drug and alcohol tests.
  • Must meet and maintain liability coverage eligibility.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Must be able to meet all state requirements for school bus drivers as determined by the Texas Education Agency and the Department of Transportation.
    This position requires three professional references. This position is considered a security sensitive position and will require a criminal background check.
