Job description

Senior Vice President, Casualty Construction Broker

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Vice President, Casualty Construction Broker position. This is a hybrid role available in our Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, St. Louis, Boston, or Atlanta office. This is a great opportunity to join the Construction & Infrastructure group. You will broker and consult for a diversified client base with insurance underwriters in casualty insurance.

What the day will look like:

  • Develop and manage client relationships, account strategies, and insurance marketing activities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the client, in broking, designing, selling, and servicing complex accounts.
  • Assist Owners/Contractors on large project opportunities including RFPs.
  • Provide outstanding and timely service and support for customers, account executives, and originators.
  • Identify and analyze client exposures and ensure policy coverage addresses all such exposures.
  • Facilitate the compilation of submission information in conjunction with customers, account representatives, originators, and service center support.
  • Finalize market submission and product design options to clients, relationship managers, and originators.
  • Review and analyze quotes and binders to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • In-depth understanding of the existing and prospective business within the construction segment.
  • Insurance Carrier relations specific to construction.
  • Bespoke Broking and account reviews.
  • Retain and grow assigned clients/prospects.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and ethical behavior in all activities and able to work well in a team environment.

Training/Mentoring Junior Brokers:

  • Detailed understanding of the market dynamics within the segment.

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • Minimum 10+ years construction/infrastructure customer service and/or brokerage insurance experience.
  • Large complex project experience (OCIPs, CCIPs, JVs, Rolling CIPs) is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Proven collaboration skills.
  • Critical thinking.
  • Solid knowledge of the brokerage business and market relationships.
  • Superior written and communication skills to support conduct of business in a professional manner with external/internal clients and the marketplace.
  • Team player who understands the roles and responsibilities of other Aon professionals, assumes responsibility for the timely delivery of a professional work product in accordance with assigned roles, and facilitates communication among team members.
  • Continually strives for perfection and professionalism in all communications and work products.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point.

Education: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. A Property and Casualty Brokers License is required.

Travel Expectations: Up to 2-4 days per month (Client dependent).

Pay Transparency Laws: The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $200,000 to $285,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of California. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
