Part Time Teller – BilingualJob Description:  The teller will provide excellent customer service while efficiently and accurately processing transactions, handling currency, accepting payments, verifying funds and explaining bank products while working in a team environment.  Essential Functions: 
  • Receives cash and checks for deposit, verifies amounts, and looks for check endorsements.  Examines cash carefully to guard against acceptance of counterfeit bills.
  • Cash checks for customers after verifying identification and checking account balances in accordance with bank policy
  • Enters transactions into computer and issues customer receipts
  • Balance cash against computer records at beginning and ending of shift
  • Issue cashier’s checks, personal money orders, and gift cards
  • Redeem savings bonds for customers only
  • Explains bank services and charges to customers
  • Observes suspicious behavior and report any such activity
  • Assists customers in with general customer service
  • Balance coin machine, vault balancing including cash sales and money ordering
  • Process deposits and payment transactions through back counter
  • Greet and refer customers to appropriate bank personnel to meet their financial needs.
  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Must be bilingual - Spanish and English Speaking
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Prior banking experience is preferred.
  • Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Communication Skills – The ability to communicate effectively
  • Mathematics – using mathematics to solve problems
  • Problem Solving Skills – The ability to find resolution to problems in an efficient, practical manner
  • Time Management – managing one’s own time and the time of others within the group
  • Administrative skills – basic computer skills including 10 key experience

Education/Training:  High School Diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certificate).  Must have cash handling and customer service experience.  Banking experience preferred.
