Job Summary
The Interstate Part-time Retail Store Parts & Delivery Specialist plays a key role in ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency within the battery retail environment. This position is responsible for engaging with customers to provide accurate information about products and services, addressing inquiries, and resolving concerns in a courteous and timely manner. The Retail Store Parts & Delivery Specialist reports to the Store Manager and does not have direct reports.
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, complete safety training, and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Greets and assists customers by telephone or in store to provide information about products or services, take or enter orders, cancel accounts, or obtain details of complaints in a professional manner.
  • Maintains invoicing sales, accepting payment, and processing credit cards while securing accurate transactions.
  • Processes exchanges, returns, warranties, and core transactions in accordance with company policy.
  • Installs vehicle batteries in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, and performs other in-store services for customers.
  • Delivers local commercial account orders (batteries, accessories, etc.) as needed, following all state traffic laws.
  • Ensures all inventory counts, stock adjustments, and store-to-store transfers are processed in a timely manner.
  • Performs daily operational tasks, keeping retail space and battery charging stations clean and organized.
  • Enters inventory data into computer using various data entry devices and keeps data organized so that it is easily accessible at any time.
  • Recommends improvements in product placement, packaging, shipping, service, or billing methods and procedures to prevent future problems.
  • Maintain a clean store and professional appearance.
  • Performs work on weekends and evenings, including store opening/closing duties as needed to meet applicable deadlines.
  • Follow security procedures when entering and exiting the building for the safety of themselves and others.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Key Performance Measurements:
  • A score card that reflects performance in areas such as daily sales, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution.
  • Management observation regarding attitude, diligence, team contributions, and willingness and ability to learn new skills and information. Other key metrics prescribed by supervisor, resulting in positive customer and Company impact.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen and have a valid state driver's license.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Driving record that meets the company mandated driving eligibility requirements.
  • 3+ years of driving experience.
  • 1+ year of retail customer service experience, preferably in automotive parts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, or Counterpoint preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong workplace relationships with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
  • Capable of organizing his/her own work and work independently, with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs, and across remote offices.
  • Able to clearly articulate ideas (both written and verbal) to both internal and external customers and to listen effectively to customer needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments toward the greater good of the organization.
  • Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts.
