Assistant Athletic Director Job Description

Reports to: Athletic Director

Purpose: The Assistant Athletic Director (AAD) provides operational support to the Athletic Director, focusing on the logistical execution of game days and remote administrative tasks to ensure the department functions smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Game Day Logistics:
    • Serve as the primary on-site coordinator for home games per the schedule set by AD and Assistant AD or when the AD is unavailable.
      • Be the point person for visiting teams, referees, and spectators.
      • Oversee game-day operations, including ensuring scorekeepers and clock operators are present and trained.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Maintain athletic rosters and assist with the backend setup of team registrations in platforms like TeamSnap.
    • Perform remote administrative tasks such as collecting participation data, managing physical and electronic files for student-athletes, and assisting with the inventory of uniforms and supplies.
  • Communication:
    • Be a liaison between the Athletic Department, team managers, and parents to relay schedules, changes, and volunteer needs.
    • Assist in maintaining the athletic calendar and updating team-specific communications via Team Snap (Sport Management Tool)
  • Inventory & Equipment:
    • Assist in the ordering, distribution and collection of uniforms and sports equipment.
    • Ensure first-aid kits and game-day supplies are stocked and accessible for coaches at practices and games.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive, servant-hearted presence at athletic events.
  • Faith & Character: Aligns with the CCA mission and Statement of Faith; models Christian conduct and patience when interacting with parents, staff, and opposing teams.


JOB DESCRIPTION - Physical Requirements

Shall be able to:

1. Handle work which deals mostly with people, objects, equipment in a general setting; depth perception and field of vision are important.

2. Bend, stoop, twist, turn, reach, lift (up to 50 pounds), carry, pull, push, climb, and kneel; walking and standing approximately 50-75% of each shift.

3. Recognize differences in sound, such as voices/noises that are loud and playful instead of angry and combative; ability to differentiate tones and volumes in conversation.

4. Use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.

5. Perform child restraint as necessary if that child is going to harm themselves or others.

6. Perform duties with moderate to no supervision though the supervisor is usually available; most tasks are governed by standard practices, however some are not; therefore, innovative thinking is required.

7. Handle multiple tasks with energy and good organizational skills.

8. Drive assigned vehicle with appropriate state driver's license; follow all laws applicable.

9. Take CPR and first aid if required

10. Maintain sufficient good health to properly discharge duties consistently; employees who have an infectious disease or skin lesion shall not be permitted to work for the duration of the communicability.
