Part Time Weekend coverage will entail two 12-hour shifts, Saturday and Sunday 7am-7pm RESEARCH ASSISTANT MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with Caron faculty, other research staff, and student interns to achieve research objectives.
  • Function as a member of the research team through active participation in research team meetings and correspondence. Communicate appropriately with other team members to promote the efficient management and implementation of each research protocol by providing constructive feedback and support to fellow researchers and contributing to a positive and productive research environment.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of research study activities to ensure timely completion of project goals.
  • Support research studies related to such matters as participant identification, recruitment, enrollment, retention, protocol implementation, data collection, data entry, database creation and maintenance, staffing needs identification and scheduling related to project specific requirements, program evaluation, and basic statistical analysis.
  • Properly implement study protocols and ensure timely and accurate documentation of study events.
  • Support, as necessary, the completion of required paperwork for studies and ensure all research documentation is current and accurate. Maintain accurate and organized records of study data, ensuring data integrity and research participant confidentiality.
  • Utilize appropriate study technology (site pads, tablets, electronic diaries, web sites, databases, ) to perform the necessary functions of screening, randomizing and data collection.
  • Conduct participant assessment(s) during study visits to determine presence of adverse events and/or side effects; documenting and notifying principal investigator of findings/issues
  • May contribute to the drafting and development of research papers, reports, and presentations for academic journals, conferences, and other scholarly outlets. May present research findings at internal and external meetings, workshops, or academic conferences when applicable.
  • Respond to requests and provide information/data to internal and external parties.
  • Use judgment and be self-directed in performance of responsibilities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience in mental health or addiction treatment or research
  • General knowledge of regulatory requirements & GCP preferred but not required
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule, including weekend and evening hours, to align with project goals and scheduled appointments.
  • If in recovery, 1 year of continuous sobriety is preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be able to follow directions and make independent decisions when necessary.
  • High proficiency with full Microsoft Suite of applications
  • Familiarity with Outlook, Excel, SPSS software programs.
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills; fluency in English
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and time management abilities
  • Must have exceptional organizational and communications skills, as well as an ability to perform effectively in a confidential environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in data collection, analysis, and record-keeping is crucial to maintaining the integrity of the research.
  • Time Management: Capable of managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing work effectively. Must demonstrate versatility and flexibility in a busy environment with shifting priorities.
